Zach Ertz

Zach Ertz is a football player. He’s 31 years-old. His position is tight end. He played college football at Stanford University. Ertz began his career with the Philadelphia Eagles and won a Super Bowl. Ertz was traded to the Arizona Cardinals in 2021 and helped the team get to the playoffs for the first time since 2015. Ertz is also a three-time Pro Bowl tight end.

Zach Ertz was a standout star at Stanford University as a tight end. He redshirted his freshman season in 2009. In 2010, Ertz had 16 catches for 190 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns in 13 games for the Cardinal. During Stanford’s blowout victory over Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl, Ertz had two receptions and a touchdown. In 2011, Ertz had 27 receptions with 343 receiving yards and 4 touchdown catches. He had 4 catches and 1 touchdown against Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl. Ertz’s best college season was 2012. He had 69 catches with 898 receiving yards and 6 touchdown catches that season. He was a Consensus All-American and All-Pac12 First Team in 2012. In 37 college games, Ertz had 112 catches with 1,434 receiving yards and 15 touchdown catches. He opted out of his senior season and declared for the 2013 NFL Draft.

Zach Ertz was drafted in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles who had the 35th overall selection. Ertz proved to be a very valuable player for the Eagles. He earned his first Pro Bowl selection in 2017 and helped the Eagles win Super Bowl 52 against Tom Brady and the Patriots 41-33. In 2018, Ertz set an NFL record for most receptions in a single season with 116. He made his second consecutive Pro Bowl that season. He was also a Pro Bowl tight end in 2019. Ertz had an injury riddled season in 2020.

Zach Ertz played 6 games with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021 where he had 18 receptions for 189 yards and 2 touchdown catches. The Eagles traded Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals midseason in exchange for Tay Gowen and a 2022 5th round draft pick. In 11 games with the Cardinals, he had 56 receptions for 574 yards and 3 touchdown catches. He helped the Cardinals get to the Playoffs for the first time since 2015. They suffered a heavy defeat to the Los Angeles Rams in the 1st round.

On March 13, 2022 the Cardinals signed Zach Ertz to a 3-year contract worth $31.65 million.

Zach Ertz is married to U.S. Women’s Soccer player Julie Ertz (formerly Johnston). Together, they founded the Ertz Family Foundation, which is a nonprofit charity foundation.
