Trinity Rodman

Trinity Rodman is an American professional soccer player. She’s 20 years-old. She competes in the National Womens Soccer League (NWSL). She is a member of the Washington Spirit. Rodman is also a member of the U.S. Womens National Soccer Team where she has made 7 appearances. Rodman is the daughter of former NBA player Dennis Rodman.

Trinity Rodman was born in Newport Beach, California in 2002. She started playing soccer at the age of 10. She competed for the SoCal Blues in the Elite Clubs National League. The blues won 4 national championships and were undefeated for 5 straight seasons. Rodman attended Corona del Mar High School in her freshman year and played for their soccer team. She transferred to JSerra Catholic High School for her final three years, but did not play. Rodman committed to play college soccer at Washington State University in 2020, but was unable to compete when the season was canceled due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Trinity Rodman decided to forgo college and enter the 2021 NWSL Draft at the age of 18. She was selected as the 2nd overall pick by the Washington Spirit. Rodman scored 7 goals in her rookie season with the Spirit. This made her the 2nd highest scorer for the Spirit in the 2021 season. She helped lead the Spirit to an 11-7-6 record in the regular season and qualified for the postseason. Washington defeated the North Carolina Courage in the opening round 1-0. Rodman scored a goal in the second round and helped lift the Spirit to a 2-1 victory over the OL Reign to advance to the final round, where Washington would face the Chicago Red Stars. Rodman assisted on Kelley O’Hara’s game-winning goal against the Red Stars, which secured the first ever NWSL Championship for the Washington Spirit. Rodman’s efforts earned her the 2021 NWSL Rookie of the Year Award and she was named to the NWSL Best XI. She was also named the U.S. Soccer Young Female Player of the Year in 2021. In February 2022, Rodman signed a contract extension with the Washington Spirit worth $1.1 million through the end of the 2024 season and a club option for 2025. This new contract makes Rodman the highest paid player in NWSL history.

Trinity Rodman has played for the U.S. Womens Under-17, Under-20, and Senior National Teams. Trinity Rodman played in 7 games for the U.S. Womens National Team in 2022. She scored 2 goals in those 7 games.

Trinity Rodman was nominated for Best Breakthrough Athlete of the Year Award at the 2022 ESPYs, but was passed up by Eileen Gu.
