Sam Ponder

Sam Ponder is an American sports commentator. She’s 36 years-old. She has worked for ABC, Fox Sports Network, and the Longhorn Network. She currently works for ESPN. Ponder is a native of Phoenix, Arizona.

Sam Ponder is a highly educated woman. She attended high school at Central High School in Phoenix. After graduating, she attended King’s College in New York City. During her time in New York City, Ponder met Ben Keeperman of ABC Sports Radio. Keeperman helped land Ponder an internship role with the network, which eventually led Ponder to a full-time job as an assistant researcher for ABC-TV Sports. Ponder later transferred to Liberty University and accepted a job as a sideline reporter for Liberty Sports Television Network. Ponder graduated from Liberty University in 2009.

Sam Ponder began working for Fox Sports Network right out of college as a sideline reporter for Pac-10 and Big 12 college basketball and college football games. She left Fox in 2011 to join the newly created Longhorn Network, which featured a three-person broadcast crew. The Longhorn Network is a subsidiary network of ESPN focusing on covering the University of Texas Longhorns athletics. She lived in Austin, Texas during this time.

Sam Ponder has served in several different roles for ESPN over the years. She was part of ESPN’s college gameday, which is a countdown show for college football on Saturdays. Ponder also worked as a sideline reporter for ESPN’s Thursday Night College Football, with Rece Davis, Jesse Palmer, and David Pollack doing play-by-play. Ponder is currently the lead host of Sunday NFL Countdown on ESPN.

Sam Ponder is married to former NFL quarterback Christian Ponder. They have three children. They have two daughters named Bowden and Price, and one son named Robinson.
