Christian Walker

Christian Walker is an American baseball player. He’s 31 years-old. He plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball. He played briefly for the Baltimore Orioles. He was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Walker played college baseball for the University of South Carolina.

Christian Walker was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania. He attended Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic High School. Walker was drafted in the 49th round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He chose not to sign with the team. Walker instead chose to play college baseball for the University of South Carolina. The Gamecocks won the College World Series in 2010 and 2011. The Gamecocks finished runner-up to the University of Arizona Wildcats in the 2012 College World Series. He played in 206 games for the Gamecocks and batted .336 with 30 home runs and 137 runs batted in.

Christian Walker was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 4th round of the 2012 MLB Draft. He made his Major League Baseball debut for the Orioles on September 17, 2014. He recorded his first major league hit when he doubled off of Toronto Blue Jays pitcher J.A. Happ. he had his first multi-hit game on September 20, 2014 against the Boston Red Sox. This included recording his first big league home run against Rubby De La Rosa. The Orioles designated Walker for assignment on February 21st, 2017.

Christian Walker was claimed off of Waivers by the Atlanta Braves on February 25th, 2017, and then again off of Waivers by the Cincinnati Reds on March 6th, 2017. He was placed on waivers again and would get picked up by the Arizona Diamondbacks on March 28th, 2017. Walker played in 11 games for the Dbacks in 2017, where he batted .250 with 2 home runs. He played in 37 games in 2018 and batted .163 with 3 home runs. In 152 games in 2019, Walker batted .259 with 29 home runs and 73 runs batted in. Walker played in 57 games out of 60 in a pandemic-shortened 2020 season. He batted .271 with 7 home runs and 34 runs batted in. Walker played in 115 games in 2021. He batted .244 with 10 home runs and 46 runs batted in. Walker has played pretty well in the 2022 baseball season. He is batting .235 with a career high 31 home runs and has recorded 77 runs batted in, which is also a career high.

In his career thus far, Christian Walker has a career average of .246 with 83 home runs and 239 runs batted in.
