Angel Reese

Angel Reese is a female professional basketball player. She’s 22 years-old. She’s 6 foot 3. Reese played college basketball for the University of Maryland (Maryland) and Louisiana State University (LSU). Reese was a first round pick in the 2024 WNBA draft.

Angel Reese was born on May 2nd, 2002 in Randallstown, Maryland. She played high school basketball at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland. She played on the varsity team all four years. Reese was a McDonald’s All-American and helped St. Frances win two conference titles. Reese was a two-sport athlete in high school. She was a member of the St. Frances volleyball team. They won two conference titles. Angel Reese had received scholarship offers from 24 Division One schools and eventually committed to play for the University of Maryland.

Reese began her collegiate career playing for the Maryland Terrapins. The Terrapins won the Big Ten regular season title and the Big Ten Tournament title in Reese’s freshman season. They earned a spot in the 2021 NCAA Tournament and lost in the Sweet 16 to Texas. In her sophomore season, Reese helped lead the Terrapins to a Sweet 16 appearance at the 2022 NCAA Tournament where they ultimately lost to Stanford in that round. Reese transferred out of Maryland after the end of her sophomore season. She was once again a highly sought out recruit and eventually decided to play for LSU, joining a program being led by national championship winning Head Coach Kim Mulkey.

In Reese’s junior season, LSU advanced all the way to the 2023 NCAA title game to face the Iowa Hawkeyes. LSU defeated Iowa 102-85 to claim the program’s first national championship. It was also Head Coach Kim Mulkey’s 4th national championship, having won 3 national championships at Baylor in 21 seasons as head coach of the Lady Bears (2000 to 2021). In her senior season, Angel Reese helped the Tigers reach the Elite 8 at the 2024 NCAA Tournament but lost to Iowa. Reese was the 2024 SEC Player of the Year.

Angel Reese was selected in the 1st round and the 7th overall pick by the Chicago Sky in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
